Despite my attitude going into this project, I feel quite satisfied with the outcome and product from this project. I usually only feel proud of making something whenever every aspect of what I'm making is perfect or as good as I can make it. It was kind of refreshing in a way to be able to just say, "this is good enough, time to move on" and begin the next part. It felt satisfying to have an end product, even if it wasn't necessarily my best work.
It also felt kind of neat to not have to overthink the subject matter or storyline. I usually find myself spending a long time choosing the right story and fine-tuning the details rather than forcibly jumping in and working on a simple idea start to finish. It also feels more accurate to the industry, because in the art world I feel like its the name of the game to be constrained in time and resources.
This project has made me want to jump headfirst into my work and projects more often than I usually do. Its nice to put everything into a piece to create your best and proudest work, but professionally that is nearly impossible.
Also, as someone who is far more confident in traditional mediums, I really didn't enjoy having to work entirely digitally. My usual experience with photoshop, illustrator, and indesign was for publication design and book building/organizing, so it feels good to use it a little differently and improve my Adobe fluency.
