If I’m being honest I still have no idea which direction I’ll be taking with this zine until I start making it. Even then, it’ll likely be even different from how I see it then by the time it’s finished. This is just how my creative process unfortunately goes some of the time. In terms of ideas, I’ve got three that have stuck, but I’ll likely end up working on the one that’s most personal. Once the project was introduced, my first thought was to make it about my friend’s lizard, Darlene, and imagine how she might go about her day. I still might end up doing this one, and I even did a couple drawings for it, but we’ll see. Another idea I had came from two words: worm hole. This idea is exactly how it sounds; I would like for this one to loop, and have a worm character travel through a weird and trippy hole universe but this one I have the least amount of planning in place for. My final idea, and most likely candidate is a lot more personal. I might save it for a larger project, but I thought of making a zine as a commentary on contemporary intimacy, and the distance that seemingly grows between each of us daily as a result of not only technology but also a post-covid world. In terms of design concept, I would also like to include some of my own drawings if I can, and if they seem to go well with the images.
